We are a team of energetic and dynamic professionals working in Gothenburg, but our stakeholders and customers are global. We enjoy fika just as much as delivering great technical products. The Mass and Road Inclination team within MEVA is responsible for the development and maintenance of different types of weight estimations for all brands and combinations within Volvo Trucks. This is done for internal customers and functions such as startability, range estimations, driver experience but also connected to different kinds of legislations. The road inclination estimation is essential for accurate mass estimation because road slope affects the gravitational force on a vehicle. It is also important for us to make accurate assessment for vehicle performance, fuel consumption, braking and safety calculations.

About the role:
This position includes everything from understanding the need from the ones using the team’s output, to analyzing and solving problems reported from the field. This means it’s important that You have the knowledge and experience of the all the different phases of function development within automotive. You are creative and have the mindset to constantly learn and improve. We also think You are action oriented and are eager taking on new challenges and tasks with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. As You will be part of an agile team You are very collaborative, always putting the team and its deliveries in the first room.
Main responsibilities of the role:
SW development within our continuous integration framework, delivering SW updates to production vehicles.
Algorithm design and proof of concept investigations for mass and inclination estimation.
Testing of software in both test bench and vehicle environments.
Specification and evaluation of new sensor technologies.
Furthermore, we believe that you have most of the following background and qualifications:
M.Sc. degree in Vehicle Dynamics, Control systems, Mechatronics, Robotics or similar.
At least 7 years work experience in embedded SW development, including SW configuration, debugging and verification.
Strong understanding of application SW development and the related environment.
Well experienced with model-based development with tools such as MATLAB Simulink and TargetLink.
Well experienced with C, C++, Jenkins, Embedded Coder, and connected development tools such as GIT, Vector DaVinci, CANoe, CANalyzer, dSpace and SystemWeaver.
Experience in SIL/MIL/HIL testing, rig and vehicle testing.
Experience in estimation techniques and signal-processing in automotive technology.
Detailed knowledge and/or experience of different kind of sensors, such as IMU, wheel speed sensors, pressure/axle load sensors etc.
Knowledge of in-vehicle communication technologies (LIN, CAN, Ethernet, diagnostic protocol, SOME/IP etc.).
Knowledge of SW platforms such as Classic and Adaptive Autosar.
Driving license for passenger cars is required. C/CE truck driving license it meritorious.
